Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any further questions not covered here, feel free to contact us via the Contact page
- How long is the class?
A class will normally take half a day, so I have two sessions per day – 9am to 1pm, or 3pm to 7pm. This time includes a market tour where we buy the ingredients you will need for your class. If you have any special issues with timing, I will try to be flexible to your needs, please contact me via the Contact page.
- How many people can join a class?
I can accept up to a maximum of 4 people in one class (including adults and children). I can teach children aged 10-15years old, charged at half price (16 years and above is adult price). I may be able to accommodate a bigger group but this will require sharing one cooking station - please contact me via the Contact page for special arrangements.
- How many dishes can I learn to cook?
You can learn 3 dishes during the lesson. This can be any combination from the Menu page, including desserts.
- Where are the classes?
Your class takes place at the well-equipped kitchen my family home, an apartment at the following address: House 6B, Executive Mansion, #56, Soi 39, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok. If you want to take the market tour, I will meet you at the subway exit nearest to the market, and after the tour take you to my home. When you book a class through the "Book a Class" page, your confirmation email will include directions on getting to my home or the market tour meeting point, including directions in Thai for taxi drivers. My address and mobile number are shown on the confirmation email, as well as on every page of this website. Please ensure that I have your contact email and phone number.
- How to I book a class?
Go to the Book a Class page and reserve your session, either morning or afternoon, or click both if you want to study all day. Sessions which are available are shown in white, while sessions already booked are shown in red.
- How do I select the menu?
You can browse the dishes on the "Menu" page - roll the cursor over each picture to get the name of the dish, or click on the dish to get a brief description. You will also see the options for ingredients (such as different meats or vegetarian). When you are booking a class, after selecting the date of your lesson the menu will appear again. When selecting a dish, you will see a list of options (such as different meats, fish or vegetarian). The menu will automatically default to the most common version (ie, if you select Pad Thai, the shrimp version will be automatically be selected) but you can select any other option available under each item. If a dish that you like is not on the menu, or you have any further questions about the options, please send me an enquiry via the Contact page.
- I have special dietary requirements, can I still take a class?
I will customize your class as flexibly as I can to take into account special dietary requirements and food allergies. For example, many of the menu items are equally delicious as vegetarian options.
- What about the market tour?
The market tour involves visiting the local wholesale market with me to buy the ingredients for your meal. The cost of the tour and transport to and from my home is included within the price of the class, and you may find it a wonderful opportunity to familiarize yourself with some of the unique ingredients in Thai cuisine. Please note on the "Book a Class" page if you would like a market tour. While I can take time to explain the ingredients you are purchasing for your class, please note that in order to have enough time for the class, the market tour should not last more than 30 minutes. If you would like more time for the market tour, please contact me via the Contact page for special arrangements.
- How do I pay?
When you have finished the "Book a Class" form, you will be taken to a payment page where you will pay for the class in full. I can accept Paypal, Visa, Mastercard and Amex. Classes are fully refundable if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance - please see the Cancellation Policy on the "Prices" page. When we have successfully received payment, you will be sent an automatic confirmation with all the details of your reservation.

There is no extra charge for eating at my home, however, please be aware that if I have guests coming after you, I will need to finish and clear up promptly. Please also bear in mind that this is a family home be respectful of our private time.
