Pia has been cooking her whole life. She learned her skills from her mother and aunts using traditional ingredients and techniques. She is a native of Thailand's North Eastern Isaan region, so as well as classical Thai cuisine, for the more adventurous, she can teach how to make rustic and spicy Isaan dishes.
Pia is very flexible about how the food is prepared to allow for dietary requirements and allergies - for example, many of her dishes are equally delicious as vegetarian or low calorie options, and she is used to cooking for children and those who do not enjoy spicy food. Unlike other cooking schools where you will join a larger class and must follow a set recipe, Pia will adapt the recipes to your taste.
Pia has run her own catering business for several years and is a graduate of one of Thailand's renowned culinary schools.
In a previous career she also worked as a language teacher, speaks fluent English, and is a lively and entertaining instructor, infusing Thai language and culture into the cooking experience.
She will take you carefully through the simple steps to prepare delicious Thai dishes, and will give you recipe cards to take away.
